We are an all female Coaching team who specialise in Coaching women.
We help women move away from dieting / slimming clubs by educating them on nutrition and teaching them how to have a flexible lifestyle whilst still enjoying their favourite foods.
We believe everyone should do some form of weight training as it help keep our muscles and bones strong as we age, so we teach our clients how to train correctly and giving them the confidence to train in a public gym.
MEET MICHELLE.…
Hi, I am Michelle Jayne I am the owner of Lift fitness, a Level 4 Advanced Personal Trainer and menopause Coaching Specialist with over 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry.
I haven’t always been into fitness in fact, I was overweight as a child and used to ask my mum to write me a note to get of doing PE. I have struggled with my weight most of my life and I yo-yo dieted for years going from one slimming club to the next and trying every diet going, even the egg diet.
I believed that to get the toned look I was after I had to do loads of cardio and eat next to nothing.... how wrong was I. I soon became very skinny as I didn’t realise you had to build muscle first. This is when I decided to do some research and realised to get the look I wanted I had to do start weight training. Once I started seeing results my confidence grew and that is when I decided to join a gym.
When I started taking my training seriously, I became obsessed with heathy eating and developed disordered eating. I would take my meal prep food everywhere, wouldn’t eat out and would often cancel social events if it revolved around food so I could stick to my fitness plan. On the outside I looked healthy but I was far from healthy mentally as the healthy eating obsession took over my life.
I decided to educate myself on evidence-based nutrition to not only help myself but pass on this knowledge to my clients. This is why I am an advocate of flexible dieting and encourage clients to continue to have a social life as you can do both, something I wish I knew back then.
MEET WALLIS….
Hi, I am Wallis Pegington I am Level 2 gym instructor and in the process of completing my Level 3.
I have been with Lift Fitness as a client for over two years and have had amazing results from being coached by Michelle and now I work with Lift Fitness as a Coach.
Before starting with Lift Fitness I had tried fad diets, followed incorrect advice from social media and tried slimming clubs and found nothing worked or I couldn’t commit.
I have been on a huge journey and have had fantastic physical results as well as a huge mental shift which has improved my relationship food…. What I am trying to say in a nutshell is I have been there!
My experience with having been on the journey you are starting plus a love for fitness gives me the ability to understand and support you and your goals.
I have practiced flexible dieting for over two years and am a huge advocate for this, I believe you shouldn’t have to be miserable and cut out the things that bring you happiness in life to be healthy and have a social life.
